Most questions I get about watermarks aren't "how do I remove it". They're more basic than that: where exactly is it, does it move, why does one export have it and the next one doesn't? The answers are scattered across help centers, pricing pages and forum threads, so I put them in one place.
This page covers 21 apps and AI generators — the same ones we have dedicated pages for. For each one I wrote down where the mark sits, whether it moves during the clip, whether it carries your username, and what makes it show up in the first place.
How I checked
Where a company publishes its own rule — a help article, a pricing page, a watermark policy — I used that. Where it doesn't, I used public reports and, for a few platforms, our own sample clips. Anything I couldn't confirm is marked not verified rather than guessed.
The last column is about us: whether remover.work has a detection mode built for that platform, matches it against a registered logo sample, or falls back to general watermark detection. That tells you how much to trust the free 5-second preview before you run a full clip.
Last checked: October 2026. These rules change, so I'll keep the date current when I update a row.
AI video generators
| Platform | Where the mark sits | Moves? | Shows your username? | When it shows up | On remover.work |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Veo | Bottom-right corner | No | No | Most Veo videos in Gemini and Flow; Flow videos made on the Ultra plan skip the visible mark | Veo-specific detection |
| Kling | A corner of the frame | No | No | Free plan downloads; paid plans can download without it | Kling-specific detection |
| Runway | A corner of the frame | No | No | Every generation on the Free plan | General detection |
| Seedance | Depends on the app you generated it in — not verified | No | No | Not verified | General detection |
| Pika | Bottom-right, semi-transparent | No | No | Free plan output | Pika-specific detection |
| Luma | Bottom-right | No | No | Free and Lite plans; Plus and above export without it | Luma-specific detection |
| Hailuo (MiniMax) | Bottom-right ("MINIMAX | Hailuo AI") — seen in our own Hailuo clip | No | No | Free and trial-credit downloads; paid plans download without it | Matched against a registered logo sample |
| Vidu | Bottom-right | No | No | Free plan output | General detection |
| Dreamina (Jimeng) | Not verified | No | No | Not verified | General detection |
| HeyGen | A corner of the frame | No | No | Free plan exports; paid plans can switch it off | HeyGen-specific detection |
Two things worth knowing about AI generators. First, the visible logo isn't the only mark: Google says Veo videos also carry SynthID, an invisible watermark in the picture and audio, on every plan. Removing the corner logo doesn't touch it, and nothing on this page claims otherwise. Second, some generators' terms say you shouldn't remove the free-plan watermark — Pika is explicit about it. If you generated the clip on a free plan, paying for the plan that exports without the mark is the clean route. Use a remover on footage you own or are licensed to edit.
Social apps
| Platform | Where the mark sits | Moves? | Shows your username? | When it shows up | On remover.work |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| TikTok | Jumps between positions during the clip | Yes | Yes — the creator's @username | When a video is saved or downloaded from TikTok | TikTok-specific detection |
| Moves around the frame | Yes | Yes — the creator's @username | Only when you use the built-in Download option on a Reel; the uploaded original has no mark | Instagram-specific detection | |
| Snapchat | The ghost logo; position not verified | Yes | Often | Some saved and shared Spotlight and Story content | Snapchat-specific detection |
| Douyin | Moves between positions | Yes | Yes — the creator's Douyin ID | When a video is saved to your phone from Douyin | General detection |
| YouTube | Nowhere in the file — see below | — | — | — | General detection (for logos edited into the video) |
YouTube is the odd one out. The channel "branding watermark" you see in the bottom-right corner on youtube.com is drawn by the player on top of the video. It isn't part of the video file, so a downloaded copy doesn't have it. If a YouTube video you have still shows a logo, the creator put it there while editing — that's what our YouTube page handles.
Instagram is the other surprise. The creator's upload is clean; the logo and @username are stamped on at the moment someone taps Download.
Video editors
| Platform | Where the mark sits | Moves? | Shows your username? | When it shows up | On remover.work |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CapCut | On the ending clip, and on some templates | No | No | The default ending and watermarked templates; CapCut Pro removes them | Matched against a registered logo sample |
| Filmora | Large text across the middle of the frame | No | No | Free exports; a purchased plan exports clean | General detection |
| InShot | Bottom-right badge | No | No | Free version exports; removable per video by watching an ad, or with Pro | General detection |
| Kapwing | Bottom-right | No | No | Every Free plan export | Matched against a registered logo sample |
| VEED | Bottom-right ("Made with VEED") | No | No | Free plan exports | General detection |
| Clipchamp | None on free exports today | — | — | Premium stock now blocks the export until you upgrade, instead of adding a mark | General detection (for older exports) |
With editors, the cheapest fix often happens before export. In CapCut you can delete the ending clip or turn off the default ending. In Filmora, re-exporting the original project after you buy a plan removes the mark. In InShot you can watch an ad to drop it on one video. A remover only makes sense once the watermark is already burned into a file you can't re-export.
What "On remover.work" means
- Platform-specific detection — a detection mode built for that platform's watermark, so you don't select anything. It also follows marks that move, like TikTok's.
- Matched against a registered logo sample — we keep a reference image of the platform's actual logo and match against it, so you don't select anything either.
- General detection — no platform preset yet. It works on many clips, but check the free 5-second preview first. If anything is left, the Remove Any Logo tool lets you draw a box around it.
Whichever it is, the first 5 seconds of any video process free, at your source resolution and with no watermark added, so you can judge the result on real output before you spend credits. The dedicated pages are linked from our watermark remover.
